- offers a comprehensive list of forthcoming opera in Scotland  as well as past performance history.



Below are productions that may not feature on the above general sites, while some are repeated because of their rarity or to show the geographical range of opera  or to give additional information.   Note that some productions may be amateur, semi-professional, student or touring groups and may use an abridged, native language or reduced version of the opera. The details below are given in good faith. Please confirm details and times, as changes or cancellations do happen.



- The Rosenblatt Recital Series is a series of recitals by both up and coming and established singers.

- Joyce DiDonato will be appearing at the Barbican in a selection of bel canto arias on September 25, see here for details.

- Opera Rara have announced a concert performance of Donizetti's Les Martyrs at the Royal Festival Hall on November 4, 2014, preceded by recording sessions. Sir Mark Elder conducts and the cast includes Bryan Hymel, Joyce El-Khoury and David Kempster. The CDs will contain music not heard since the first performances in 1840. They have also launched an appeal to raise the £250,000 needed to cover the costs. For details see the “Donate” page of their website

- Chelsea Opera Group are performing a concert version of Foroni's Cristina, regina di Svezia on November 8. See here for  comment and photographs on the 2013 Wexford production of the opera.

 - Welsh National Opera Autumn 2014 season will include Rossini's William Tell and Moses in Egypt

- Scottish Opera are performing La Cenerentola in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Edinburgh, October 15 - November 22.



-  October Opera Magazine reported that Donizetti's Poliuto will be staged at Glyndebourne, May 21 - July 15, 2015.

- The English Touring Opera's Spring 2015 tour includes Donizetti's Il furioso all'isola di San Domingo, retitled as The Wild Man of the West Indies but sung in Italian. They will also revive The siege of Calais.  See here for a review of its original production

- The Guildhall School of Music & Drama plan to stage Donizetti's I pazzi per progetto in March 2015

- Buxton Festival are planning Verdi's Giovanna d'Arco and Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor and a concert performance of Charpentier's Louise, July 10 - 25, 2015

- The Leeds Youth Opera production for 2015 will be Donizetti's The Elixir of Love.



- The National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing are performing Bellini's Norma, September 11 - 14.



- The Wexford Festival will include Cagnoni's Don Bucefalo, October 23 - November 1



- Performances of De Giosa's Don Checco will be given at the Teatro di Corte,  September 25 - October 3.  An article on the opera can be found in Newsletter 120

- The Donizetti Festival, Bergamo include plans to stage Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Betly and Torquato Tasso.  See here for details.



- Mezzo Hayden DeWitt will be performing an all bel-canto concert of arias from 19th century operas.  It includes excerpts from Pacini’s Malvina di Scozia, Nini’s Ida della Torre, and F. Ricci’s Luigi Rolla, all totally unknown to modern audiences.  She is also including arias from Mercadante’s I Due Figaro and Donizetti's Olivo e Pasquale.

The concert is on October 24, 2014 at 7.30 pm at the Church of the Ascension,

- Minnesota Opera will be performing Donizetti's The Elixir of Love (L'elisir d'amore) , January 24 - February 1, 2015

- (Toronto, April 27, 2014) reports that Sandra Radvanovsky will be singing Donizetti's Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux as part of the Metropolitan Opera New York's 2015-16 season in what they describe as "Opera's Triple Crown".
