The pictures below were provided by the director, Walter Neiva ( http://www.walterneiva.cng.br/ ). This production used the saxophone rather than the trumpet to introduce Ernesto's “Povero Ernesto”, which Sax claimed Donizetti originally planned to do. On balance it seems unlikely, as indicated in the article Donizetti and Sax in Newsletter 98.
